Original "Pecos" Linocut Print on linen by Matthew Allen. This original 39.5” x 31.5” hand carved linocut print by Southern California artist Matthew Allen was created for his Impressions art show alongside ceramicist Logan Wannamaker, at Folklore in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Inspired by the landscape of Santa Fe, this artwork was created using linocut printing and wood block printing on raw linen canvas fabric. The unevenness of the pressed ink on the fabric's weave adds textural details. The layering of multiple pressings on this linocut print uses the building of ink densities as a device to add dimension. Peaceful artwork for the contemporary home.
