Original "Dusk" Mixed Media Artwork

Original "Dusk" Watercolor and Linocut Print on linen by Matthew Allen. This original 12"x18" mixed media artwork by Southern California artist Matthew Allen was created for his Impressions art show alongside ceramicist Logan Wannamaker, at Folklore in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The art is framed in walnut hardwood. Inspired by the landscape of Santa Fe, this artwork was created using a combination of watercolors and linocut printing on raw linen canvas fabric. The unevenness of the pressed ink on the fabric's weave adds texture details within a simple landscape composition. Matthew allows his flowing line work to be represent different natural elements across his body of work. In this context the lines act as clouds creeping into the evening sky.
