These are the days we surfers wait for. We reminisce about them when Spring comes and brings with it south winds that ruffle the sea. We yearn for these days as Summer sends swell from the south, feeding the point energy from the wrong direction. Our anticipation rises as Summer fades into Fall, and when winter descends we know the arctic storms are swirling, sending swell to our beloved point break, and we will be there to meet it. This 35mm film surf photo is a reproduction of Southern California artist Matthew Allen's surf photography. The former Surfer Magazine Art Director is also the co-creator of the now retired boutique surf brand The Ryde. Much of his fine art and photography revolves around beach and surf culture. Matthew spends his days shooting photos and making art as well as creating illustrations for clients such as UNIQLO, Ford Motor Company, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Ron Herman, Champion, Vans, Bon Appetit, Food and Wine, and the Anaheim Ducks. Most of his other waking hours are spent surfing and making music.
