Taken on a windy afternoon in Newport Beach. Matthew surfed for a spell and then noticed that Christian had paddled out on his Deepest Reaches Megafish. Matthew headed in, quickly changed, and grabbed his camera to snap a few frames. Matthew only shot about 15 photos and this was the last one on the roll.
This special Limited Edition art print is a reproduction of Southern California artist Matthew Allen's surf photography from his "Borrowed Light" series. The former Surfer Magazine Art Director is also the co-creator of the now retired boutique surf brand The Ryde. Much of his fine art and photography revolves around beach and surf culture. Matthew spends his days shooting photos and making art as well as creating illustrations for clients such as Ford Motor Company, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Ron Herman, Champion, Vans, Bon Appetit, Food and Wine, and the Anaheim Ducks. Most of his other waking hours are spent surfing and making music.
