The new Waves & Woods Magazine just arrived at my door, all the way from Deutschland. What an honor to have my art featured in such a beautiful publication. They selected works that represent many branches of my artistic journey, from block prints on vintage sails to freehand lettering on raw canvas, coffee paintings and a mixed media piece. Lars interviewed me about my art journey and practice, as well as my relationship with surfing. There is something special about having one’s work in print. Life is a series of decisions, of yes and no. We all face this, but especially as artists. We survive on people saying yes. Yes, I like that. Yes, I want to share it. Yes, I want to spend my money for it to live with me. Every time I flip through a magazine that has chosen to feature my art or photography, and see that image in print, it is an emphatic YES! The folks involved have said yes, we want to share this with the people who trust us to share good things with them. It is meaningful. Their Yes matters. Your Yes matters.
